National Champion Fresno State (47-31 Overall, 21-11
in conference) was unranked at the outset of this NCAA's,
and were the lowest seed ever to reach the College World
Series. The Bulldogs had started the season 8-12 before
igniting and making history. |

runner up in the 2008 College World Series. UGA had won
four in a row in Omaha which included a win over Fresno

State?s first victim in their run to the title. The Owls
then lost a lead, and consequently the game, to LSU to
