Mount Olive (58-6) earned its first national championship
with a 6-2 victory over Ouachita Baptist. The national
championship is the first in school history for any Mount
Olive athletics team. |

semi-finals after a loss to eventual champ Mount Olive.

The Eagles (40-18) dropped out of the rankings the second
half of the season, but finished strong, finishing second
in the GLIAC and winning the NCAA Division II North Central
Regional. |

The Red Raiders (39-26) won the PSAC Western Division
title and a North Atlantic region championship en route
to their fourth Division II World Series appearance in

the third consecutive year and were ranked number one
mid-season, but were eliminated by Delta State in the

Chico State (42-17) played in their 10th regional final
in the last 13 years, but couldn't withstand the inexorable
force of Sonoma State who won the West going away. |

Nebraska-Omaha (45-13) had an incredible second half of
the season, losing only four times in 37 games. Unfortunately
for the Mavs, two of the losses were to CMU in the Central
Regional to end their season. |

USC Aiken's (47-17) forty-seven wins were the most in
the program's NCAA era, and the third highest win total
in the Pacers' 36-year history of the program. |

and were the South Atlantic Tournament Champions, but
couldn't get out of the South Regional to advance to Sauget. |

year and at one time was ranked number two in the nation
when the Hornets were riding a thirty-five game winning

Rams
West Chester (45-16) fell to Shippensburg in the North
Atlantic Regional Championships by a single run. The Golden
Rams suffered both tournament losses to the upstart Raiders. |

Catawba (43-18) lost a seesaw game to Tampa in the South
Region Baseball Championship. It was the second time in
three years and third time in the past five seasons that
the Indians have made the post-season tournament. |

Wayne State - Michigan Warriors
The Warriors' (34-19) season came to an end when they
were shutout by conference rival Ashland in the championship
game of the NCAA North Central Regional. |

West Alabama Tigers
The Tigers (45-13) ended their season tying the school
record for wins, but fell short in their goal of advancing
to the Division II Baseball Championships. |

The Lakers (34-13) were eliminated early in the North
Central Regional, going 0-2 in the tournament. GVSU is
one of only three teams in DII baseball to appear in every
NCAA DII Regional since 2002. |

Jackets
WVSU (36-14) won their 16th WVIAC baseball championship,
but were stymied in the North Atlantic Regional, scoring
only three runs in two straight losses. |

Bryant (43-21) set a school record for wins and finished
second to Franklin Pierce in the Northeast Regional. The
Bulldogs will transition to DI level next year and hope
to have like Florida Gulf Coast did this season. |

Atlantic Regionals to end their season. The Crusaders
established a new school record for wins in 2008. |
