A quick tip for SoCon outfielders in the upcoming conference tournament - when College of Charleston first baseman Michael Harrington makes his way to the plate, BACK UP! Last week the slugging senior hit .467 and crushed five home runs, belting a ball in each of the Cougars four wins, to lead C of C to a perfect 4-0 week. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native amassed 11 RBI, scored eight runs, had a slugging percentage of 1.467 and an on-base percentage of .550.

For the season, Harrington is hitting .318 with 23 homers and 74 RBI. He set Charleston's career home run mark this weekend when he belted his 37th homer in the Cougars' 10-0 win over Wofford in the series finale.

If Le Moyne junior Eric Beaulac doesn't make it professionally as a baseball player, maybe he should consider joining in the pro rodeo circuit as the 6'5" righty with a mid 90's fastball can certainly handle Broncs. Last Saturday Beaulac hurled a nine inning no-hitter against Rider, just the fifth no-no in Dolphin history. Beaulac struck out nine Broncs during the gem while only allowing a pair of walks to propel the Dolphins to the 1-0 victory.

With the win Beaulac improved to 8-2 on the season and lowered his ERA to 3.33. In 78.1 innings this season he has only allowed 50 hits while striking out 89.

Sonoma State had to win three consecutive elimination games, including two against Chico State on their home field to win the CCAA Championship. Luckily for the Seawolves they had Travis Babin on their roster who almost single handedly powered SSU to the title, powering the team to wins at both at the plate as well as on the mound.

The third baseman/relief pitcher was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament after batting .428 (6 for 14) and hitting three home runs, his first three of the season. Babin also earned a win in relief when he pitched two scoreless innings over Chico State to allow Sonoma State to come from behind and force a second winner take all game.
